- Soft wool rug
This vintage rug was made by a woman of the Berber tribes in the Atlas Mountains ( Beni Ourain region)of Morocco.
Approximately 30/35- years old, this small rug would have originally been made by a Berber woman for personal use in her own home. She created it with ivory and brown wool and small portions of cotton thread, and permitted herself personal freedom in expressing her own creativity and values through North African symbology and colors as she wove these designs. This piece is one of a kind, and can be used as a runner rug or wall hanging.
The rug is in excellent condition and washed. It will be ready to use as soon as you receive it. If you will be using it as a rug, we would suggest placing a non-stick pad underneath it to preserve the weave and keep it from sliding.
PLEASE NOTE: Because this is a handmade item, there may be slight imperfections in weaving, pattern, or shape. Please note all vintage items have endured a previous life and so may have slight wear and repairs. Some holes or wear spots have not been repaired to preserve the character and integrity of the piece
